Authentic materials are resources created for native speakers for real-life purposes, not specifically for learners. Examples: newspapers, magazines, brochures, menus, advertisements, emails, letters, TV shows, movies, podcasts, interviews, social media posts.
Both authentic and traditional materials (textbooks, worksheets, grammar charts, flashcards) can be used in teaching.
